Hi Nordies!

Here are some updates and race results for the past week.

We would like a big shout out for all of the hard work that has been put in to blow snow and groom a course behind the clubhouse. In our hunt for snow, please be flexible with changes to our training schedule.
If anyone has photos from the races that they would like to share on our blog, please send them to grussell@teamavsc.org.

Weekly Update Dec 14th, 2017

Hi Nordies!

Here is our weekly update! The search for snow continues with Mother Nature giving us a little tease within the last 24 hours! Thank you for your patience as we continue with our dryland training workouts up and down the valley. Our coaches are trying their best to find someplace where we can get on skis each week. This means that our training schedules can change last minute to accommodate everyone schedules and workouts so be flexible!

Steamboat First Tracks Camp:
We found winter! Rabbit Ears Pass surprised us with mid winter conditions and fantastic snow. Although with -8 degrees on Saturday morning, our camp was a success and boy did we put in the miles. For many skiers, it was their first time on snow this season and I hope everyone had a great time.

Frisco JNQ:
Our first JNQ is this weekend and we wish all of our skiers fast skis and great races.
If you have any questions regarding travel, accommodation, or the race itself, please contact your coaches ASAP so that they can help you prepare for the weekend. Best of luck!

Base Camp:
All of our BC skiers have been such good sports with their first season incorporating dryland training into the season. Let us all remember that it is winter even without snow. After the sun goes down its gets super cold and hats, gloves, jackets, winter pants are required. Also, please have your skiers bring water bottles and snacks.

We Need Volunteers!
Please help volunteer during our Nordic Bonfire Dinner on January 19th. Please click on the link below to sign up. This is our fundraiser to support our programs and we could not succeed without all of your help. Thank you!!
